Detailing Newcastle

Here at Performance 28, we are an accredited Kamikaze detailing company, using professional Kamikaze products which are only available to a small and selected number of authorised dealers. We offer the entire Kamikaze range, as well as the self healing Zipang coat.
We will only work on your vehicle in a gated, humidity controlled, indoor and insured facility – using specialist lighting for optimum paint correction. This ensures that your vehicle is treated with the highest of care and attention.
The stages of our detailing service Newcastle are outlined below:

Exterior detailing process

Rinse process from Performance 28

step 1: rinse

Using a jet lance to remove any tree sap, fallout, salt or any other contaminants to prep the car for the rest of the detailing.

Step 2: Wheel clean

Using a jet lance to remove any tree sap, fallout, salt or any other contaminants to prep the car for the rest of the detailing.

step 3: foam

Coating the vehicle in snow foam, using a foam lance, to gently “melt” the dirt that is attached to the paintwork. This eliminates the need for cloths and sponges which means there is less risk of scratches and swirls.

Step 4: Touchless Drying

Using a deep pile towel, excess water is carefully removed, before a touchless warm air drier is used to fully dry your vehicle. Using a warm air drier will reduce streaking from minerals in the water that can linger on the paint. This also reduces swirl marks that may appear in the cleaning process.

Step 5: Clay Bar

To remove fine particles of tree sap, road fallout and tar we use a clay bar and will guide this over the surfaces to fully remove any dirt and excess particles.

Step 6: Paint Correction

Using a random orbital polisher and cutting pad with the Kamikaze Benzai Cutting Compound, we can remove deep scratches and swirl marks. The compound we use does not contain filler, meaning the corrections are true and we make multiple passes to achieve the best results.

Step 7: Jewelling Polish

To refine the paintwork, for optimum depth, we undertake a jewelling polish. Using the Kamikaze Ichiban Finishing Compound, and a finishing pad to remove the finest of scratches and we will get you an  extremely glossy shine.

Step 8: Alcohol Panel Wipe

The alcohol spray that we use has been designed to strip paint of oil and polish – fully removing any excess residue. This leaves the car with a clean surface and allows the sealants to bond to the paint.

Engine Bay Deep Cleaning

Step 1: Washing the engine bay

We will very gently wash the engine bay, with low pressure water, degreaser and brushes. This will remove grime and excess dirt from around the engine.

Step 2: Steam cleaning

Using steam will fully clean the hard to reach areas and protect the terminals and electrics.

Step 3: plastics shined

After wiping with decontamination wipes, the plastics and hoses surrounding the engine will be ready for a final coating of rubber and vinyl protector.

Full Interior Detailing

Step 1: Plastics Cleaned

Having a clean dashboard and surrounding plastic is essential to finish off the detailing process. We clean all interior plastic trim, with a high quality interior cleaner and detailing brush. This leaves a natural finish, no sticky residue and your plastic interior looking shiny and new for longer

Step 2: Matts Washed

We will remove the matts from your vehicle, removing all dirt and dust by hoovering, washing with carpet cleaner and drying. This will keep them fresh and hygienic for longer.

Step 3: Leather Treatment

We will protect your leather work and ensure its longevity. After it is thoroughly cleaned we will use products to enhance and nourish the leather. We can also use hydrophobic coatings which are available on request.

Step 4: Upholstery Clean

We can also clean non leather surfaces, using upholstery cleaner to rid of stains and dirt to bring the surfaces back to their best.

Step 5: Steam Clean

Dirt and grime can build up in the vents and buttons of the car which can be difficult to clean. Using steam to clean the interior of the vehicle will remove the dirt that a cloth or brush can’t reach. Steam can also remove unwanted stains on upholstery and reduce odours.

Step 6: Deodorised

Steam cleaning can deodorise your car, adding a fragrance into the cabin and carpets. To remove stubborn smells like smoke and pet odours, we can use interior car bombs or air con bombs. This will leave your car smelling and looking fresh.

Exterior Detailing Process

Step 1: Application

When coating a car exterior in ceramic it requires a precise approach, ensuring the entire exterior surface is coated. We use Kamikaze coatings and the entire team is fully trained in their specific application process.

Step 2: Cure

Leaving time to cure is essential in the coating process, as this ensures the coat will properly bond without becoming patchy or cloudy.

Step 3: Removal

When the bonding begins to take place the ceramic is polished in a circular motion, this will remove excess and leave a surface that will resemble glass.

Step 4: Second Coat

Multiple ceramic coats will add additional protection and deeper gloss and colour and products can be added together to have different qualities. We will tailor the products to your requirements.
